PPA Raises Record-Breaking $43,000+ for Scholarship Foundation

The Pennsylvania Petroleum Association (PPA) hosted two Shoot for Scholarships Clay Shoots this spring, raising more than $43,000 to support the Robert V. Boltz Scholarship Foundation. This marks the highest amount ever raised from an event.

The April 14 event was hosted at Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays in Coplay, PA and the May 6 event was hosted at Shamrock Sporting Clays in Rockwood, PA. The two events brought together 200+ association members, industry partners, and supporters for a day of sporting clays and networking, all in support of workforce development initiatives. Funds raised through the clay shoot directly benefit students pursuing technical training and careers in the energy and HVAC industries.

The Robert V. Boltz Scholarship Foundation, named after industry-leader Bob Boltz, is a nonprofit foundation established to provide tuition assistance to students seeking to enroll into PPATEC (Pennsylvania Petroleum Association Technical Education Center).

PPATEC is a postsecondary entry-level career training institution licensed by the State Board of Private Licensing Schools and offers leading hands-on technical training solutions for the HVAC and energy industry. In 2022, PPATEC launched its HVAC & Energy Professional Program, an 11-week, 400-hour hands-on training program designed to prepare students for careers in the HVAC and energy industry. Most graduates transition directly into employment upon completion.

The clay shoot continues to be a key fundraising event for the foundation, with participation and support growing each year. This year’s record-breaking total reflects the strong and ongoing commitment of PPA members to invest in the future workforce.
