PPA Member Jamie Barton Announces Campaign For 124th State House Seat


The Pennsylvania Petroleum Association is pleased to share that one of our members, Jamie Barton, has announced a campaign to pursue the Republican nomination for a seat in the state House.

Jamie is the Vice President of Jack Rich, Inc. and is a long time PPA member who currently serves on the PPA Board of Directors.

Jamie will be pursuing a seat in the 124th district which currently covers portions of Schuylkill, Berks, and Carbon county.

Businessman Jamie Barton announces his campaign to run for State Representative in the 124th Legislative District.

“I have dedicated my life to serving my community and helping others. I believe the time is right for me to bring my passion for a better Pennsylvania to the state legislature, which will allow me to make a difference for the 124th District and its constituents,” said Jamie Barton, vice president of Jack Rich, Inc.

For the past 32 years at Jack Rich, Inc., Barton has served residential and business clients with fuels, HVAC services, lubricants and electricity. He was instrumental in pioneering the acquisition of eight businesses and manages a team of 45 employees.

As a leader in the energy industry, Barton serves on the Berks / Schuylkill Oil Dealers Association, the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association, served on the CITGO Petroleum Marketer Council and is a member of the Anthracite Region Independent Power Producers Association.

Barton serves on the executive board of directors of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, a member of Northeast PA Manufacture and Employers Association and serves as an adjunct professor at Penn State Schuylkill.  Barton has served as a volunteer instructor at the Young Entrepreneur Academy, developing aspiring entrepreneurs.

In his community, Barton serves as a lay minister and a leader on the consistory of his church.  Additionally, Barton is a past president and current board member of the Orwigsburg Lions Club and past vice president and current board member of Big Impact Group of Schuylkill County.

As a lifelong conservative, Barton has been supportive of the Republican Party and serves on the Berks Patriots Legislative Committee, and is a member of the NRA.

Because of his dedication and business leadership in his community, Barton was voted the 2017 Citizen of the Year by the Orwigsburg Lions Club, and the 2021 Businessman of the Year by the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce.

“I believe I can be a leader in eliminating property tax and wasteful spending, protect voter rights, and revitalize the Pennsylvania energy industry. I’m confident my dedication to workforce development and education will ignite quality job growth and build a larger talent pool for our employers,” said Barton.

Jamie was born and raised in Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Blue Mountain High School and Alvernia University. Today, he resides with his significant other, Brenda DeRenzo, in East Brunswick Township; and they have four children between them Jack, Alee, Nick and Joe.
