PPA – 2022 Year In Review

As the year comes to an end, we would like to express what an honor and privilege it is to represent the 400+ member companies who support our association. Your membership has a direct impact on our ability to advocate, educate, and inform on behalf of the industry.

Thank you for continuing to allow the PPA to serve your organization as a trusted partner as we move into a new year.

The PPA entered the year anticipating multiple legislative and regulatory policy challenges for both transportation and heating fuels. The PPA was actively engaged in numerous initiatives pending within the state government.

We will end the 2022 legislative session with no major policy defeats.

New Year Changes

2023 will however bring significant change to our state government with the transition of the Shapiro administration and the high probability of a split legislature. Protecting the interests of the liquid fuels industry will be as important as ever.

Workforce Development

I am happy to report that the association is continuing to invest and pursue efforts to expand workforce development within the energy industry.

Our PPATEC training program is now approved by the PA Department of Education and the Veteran Affairs (VA).

We also established a brand new position of Director of Training & Workforce Development and are in the process of again expanding our facility to add a second classroom.

The efforts this year will build a strong foundation to position the association for future growth opportunities in 2023.

Member Events

Please also mark your calendar for the following 2023 membership events. We experienced strong membership engagement this year and hope to continue to grow these events in future.

— Eastern Energy Expo, May 21 – 24

— Summer Leadership Conference, June 11 – 13

— Golf Outing, October 9

I wish you all a happy holiday season. On behalf of the entire team at the PPA, we very much appreciate your continued membership and support of our industry.

Sincerely,

Ted Harris

Executive Vice President
