PA Petroleum Association 2021 Year In Review

Click Here for a complete recap of advocacy and education activities.

As the year comes to an end, we would like to express what an honor and privilege it is to represent the 400+ member companies who support our association.

Your membership has a direct impact on our ability to advocate, educate, and inform on behalf of the industry.

Thank you for continuing to allow the PPA to serve your organization as a trusted partner as we move into a new year.

The PPA entered the year anticipating multiple legislative and regulatory policy challenges related to reducing greenhouse gas emissions for both transportation and heating fuels.

We will fortunately end the year with no major policy defeats along with a few new promising opportunities.

2022 will again bring the same anticipated government-based pressures to reduce the GHG emissions of energy products sold by our membership.

It will be more important than ever for our membership to be prepared to advocate and adapt to the future challenges that we will face as an industry.

The association took another large step forward this year in growing our educational offerings and workforce development initiatives.

The PA Department of Education approved PPATEC (Pennsylvania Petroleum Association Technical Education Center) as a Private Licensed School in February. A few months later the project to expand the training center was completed which ultimately included a ribbon cutting ceremony in August.

In the fall, the PPA introduced a new 501(c)(3) scholarship foundation to financially support more individuals who wish to enter into our industry.

There is so much potential for PPA education-based initiatives as we look ahead!

Our 2021 Summer Leadership Conference and Fall Energy Conference were hosted in-person and set record attendance figures compared to recent years. It was long overdue to see so many PPA members and industry stakeholders together under the same roof.

It is our intention to continue to grow these valuable membership conferences as we enter into a new year.

2022 will also mark the return of the in-person Eastern Energy Expo as well as a new golf event that the PPA is co-hosting with Women in Energy.

We look forward to seeing you at a PPA event in 2022!

On behalf of the entire team at the PPA, we very much appreciate your continued membership and support of our industry.

Sincerely,

Ted Harris
