PA General Assembly Reconvenes This Week

Both the state House and Senate will convene this week.  Regular sessions have been spotty this year due to the House chamber being shut down since December due to the repair of a water leak in the ceiling of the facility. The primary issues that will be under consideration in coming months surround the Governor’s proposed budget.

Already facing scrutiny from Republicans is Shapiro proposal to dig deep into the state’s Rainy Day (Reserve funds) to dramatically increase school funding and mass transit projects.

This is an election year for half the Senate and the entire state House. The Senate is currently controlled by the Republicans. The Democrats control the House by a razor thin margin.
