PA Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Report On I-95 Closure


Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) has shared the following information regarding the incident on June 11th that has resulted in an extended closure of I-95.

• A truck carrying a petroleum product caught on fire under I-95
• I-95 Northbound lane collapsed
• I-95 Southbound lane is impassable shutting down I-95 in both directions
• There is an ongoing investigation to determine the details
• It is preliminarily estimated to take months to fully repair the damaged part of I-95
• The City of Philadelphia is establishing detours and relying on mass transit to compensate for the loss of the I-95 corridor.
