PA Democrats Retain One Seat Majority In The House
September 25, 2023
As widely expected, the Allegheny County State House Special Election this past Tuesday was won overwhelmingly by the Democrat Lindsay Powell who beat Republican Erin Connolly. Once certified, the majority control of the state House will return to the Democrats, with a 102-101 margin. This marks the third time this year a special election has led to the Democrats retaining control of the PA House of Representatives.
The House returns into session this week, but the regular order of business is not expected until early October due to the budget requirement to complete code bills. The last scheduled date of the 2023 session is November 15.
