More Details Available About LIHEAP Opening October 18 For Applications


Pennsylvania’s 2021-22 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program will begin accepting applications on October 18, according to the Department of Human Services.

Among the changes for the new year–

— Income eligibility guidelines have increased to $6,810 per person in a household– up $90 from last year– starting at $19,320 for the initial person– Up $180 from last year;

— Minimum Cash Benefit is now $500– was $200 last year;

— Maximum Cash Benefit is now $1,500– was $1,000 last year; and

— Maximum Crisis Benefit is now $1,200– was $800 last year.
