LIHEAP Season Extended To May 12
The Department of Human Services (DHS) informed the LIHEAP Advisory Committee (LAC) last week that the current LIHEAP season will be extended to May 12, 2023. The season was originally set to end on April 28, 2023. The Pennsylvania Petroleum Association serves on the LAC to represent the interests of deliverable fuel vendors and consumers. DHS stated “they will be issuing a press release about the season extension as soon as we can”. The PPA recommends that fuel vendors contact their local County Assistance Office (CAO) if you are in need of any clarification.
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) previously announced details regarding the increase of Crisis Maximum LIHEAP grants from $1,000 to $2,000 along with an $150 increase in Supplemental Funding to eligible households (effective March 1, 2023). Both changes are a part of a mid-season increase in LIHEAP funding due to additional federal appropriations.
