IRRC Postpones Actions On Regulations, Including Heating Oil Sulfur Standard To June 18

The Independent Regulatory Review Commission has rescheduled its meeting for the fourth time since March 19 and will now meet June 18 to consider the final EQB regulation reducing the sulfur content of heating oil from 500 ppm to 15 ppm and other regulations.

Commission staff said June 18 will be the first time all the Commissioners will be out from under COVID-19 stay at home orders since the pandemic began.

Unlike other state boards and commissions, the Regulatory Review Act under which the IRRC operates, has a provision that commissioners must be physically present to be counted toward the quorum.

As of now, there are no comments on record with the IRRC opposing the final regulation.
