Increases In PA LIHEAP Funding Effective This Week

Last week the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced details regarding the increase of Crisis Maximum LIHEAP grants from $1,000 to $2,000. The change will be effective on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Any Crisis requests processed on or after that date will check against a $2,000 maximum instead of $1,000.

DHS previously announced a $150 increase in Supplemental Funding will be issued to eligible households on March 1, 2023. Both changes are a part of a mid-season increase in LIHEAP funding due to additional federal appropriations. The PPA actively serves on the LIHEAP Advisory Committee (LAC) to represent the interests of deliverable fuel vendors and consumers.
