House Bill 1285 Taxes Ratepayers To Expand Electric And Natural Gas Infrastructure – Act Now!

The House Consumer Affairs Committee may vote in the near future on House Bill 1285. The provisions of this bill could prove disastrous for the deliverable heating fuel industry, as it would permit natural gas utilities to subsidize the expansion of pipelines to potential residential and commercial customers.

The bill would also allow utilities to recover a portion of the costs of expanding the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure from ratepayers. The PPA is engaging in an extensive education effort with members of the Committee.

We are asking PPA members to contact their State Representative to oppose HB 1285. This is especially important for members who have Representatives who serve on the Consumer Affairs Committee. CLICK HERE to contact your Representative to oppose HB 1285.
