FMCSA Launches Registry for Entry-Level Driver Training
In preparation for the February 7, 2022 Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) compliance date, training providers in compliance with the Federal regulations may now register with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) via the Training Provider Registry. FMCSA will review all registration requests to ensure that the information provided is complete and in alignment with program requirements.
For more details about how to register, download the Training Provider Registration Guide
To begin the registration process, visit the Training Provider Registry
FMCSA’s ELDT Program sets the minimum standards for training requirements for individuals applying for a Class A or B CDL for the first time; upgrading from an existing Class B to a Class A CDL; or applying for a hazardous material (H), passenger (P), or school bus (S) endorsement for the first time. In addition, the Training Provider Registry (TPR) will be discussed.
The PPA previously hosted a presentation with FMCSA on May 4, 2021 to review how these changes would impact members. A link to review those presentation slides can be found here.
