EMA Continues To Oppose Increases In Minimum Liability Coverage For Motor Carriers

EMA has joined the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and other business groups in a letter to members of Congress who serve on the Blue Dogs and Problem Solvers caucuses urging them to oppose increases in the existing minimum liability coverage for motor carriers.

Although the proposal to raise the minimum liability coverage is focused on non-hazardous materials motor carriers, EMA believes if the proposed increase is adopted, it could lead to a slippery slope to include hazardous motor carriers in the future.
